Free guided treks for visitors with plenty of stamina!
If you like the open air, and prefer an active approach to sightseeing, grab a pair of comfortable shoes and join us on one of our free guided urban treks through the city.
The urban trekking phenomenon offers active tourists a way to blend sport and culture, while taking in many of the city’s main attractions in just one or two days. Discover the city’s streets, squares, and hidden corners, with these three routes – each led by bilingual English/Spanish-speaking guides.
For the complete circuit, you need to sign up in advance. For the separate northern and southern circuits, no inscription is necessary – just turn up on time at the meeting points.
Northern Circuit
Covers the neighbourhoods of Puerto Madero, Retiro, Recoleta and Palermo.
Distance and duration: 8km; 6 hours, including 45 minutes for lunch* in the Plaza San Martín.
Days: Tuesdays and Saturdays
Meeting point: 10am at the Puerto Madero Tourist Assistance Center, Manuela Gorriti 200, Dique 4, Puerto Madero. No pre-inscription necessary.
Southern Circuit
Covers the neighbourhoods of Monserrat, San Telmo and La Boca.
Distance and duration: 5km; 4 hours. There is no time set aside for lunch.
Days: Mondays and Fridays.
Meeting point: 10am at the Florida Tourist Assistance Center, Florida 50, Monserrat. No pre-inscription necessary.
Complete Circuit
Sponsored by North Face, the complete circuit combines both the northern and southern routes, and more, in one mammoth trek, taking in most of the city’s main attractions in just one day. Numbers for the complete circuit are limited, so please sign up in advance by completing the online form by 5pm the day before you wish to join the trek.
Distance and duration: 18km, 9 hours approx. including a one-hour break for lunch*.
Days: Wednesdays and Sundays
Meeting point: 10am at the Caminito Tourist Assistance Center, Av. Pedro de Mendoza 1800, La Boca.
