Buenos Aires´s Book Fair

23 April to 11 May

The most important annual literary event in the Spanish speaking world, with over 1 million visitors annually, opens its doors this year on 23 April.

Running for over two weeks at the La Rural exhibition centre and hosting over 1,500 expositors from up to 50 countries, with book launches, book-signings and lectures from literary greats, the Feria is a labyrinthine city of books and an absolute must for literature lovers, young and old.

Amongst the well-known literary guests at this year’s festival are multiple award-winning novelist and screenwriter John Banville (Ireland), journalist and fiction writer Rosa Montero (Spain), novelist Javier Cercas (Spain), horror writer Dan Wells (US), anthropologist Michele Petit (France), and journalist and historical novelist Arturo Pérez Reverte (Spain).

Importantly, the Feria is not just a festival for the consumer of literature, it is a space for publishers, distributors, booksellers, literary agents, translators, illustrators, graphic designers and printers, educators and librarians to come together to learn more about the Latin American publishing industry. More than 10,000 professionals are expected at this year’s Professional Sessions, which run 3 days prior to the Feria.
